Alexandra Gingrass

Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant

Hi! If you are worn out, falling asleep anytime there’s a quiet moment, or pulling your hair out
from frustration… then I’m sooo glad you found me. I would love to tell you about myself and
how I became a Pediatric Sleep Consultant.

My name is Alexandra and I love working with children and enjoy teaching others, especially if it helps make life a little easier for them. I was originally going to college to become an elementary school teacher when I was offered an opportunity to move to the South Pacific. After living on the island of American Samoa for a bit, I moved to Hawaii where I nannied for a newborn that NEVER slept. I had previously nannied for a family who had used a sleep consultant, and I was amazed at everything that was accomplished with a good routine, watching for sleepy ques, and good sleep hygiene. After doing some research, I was able to help my Hawaii nanny baby sleep through the night AND take scheduled naps! Both myself and the parents were thrilled. I moved back to Texas and began to nanny/babysit for new families.

It was then that I realized what a good routine could do for not only parents, but also the care givers. I would find myself babysitting for families and not wanting to return to those that had children that were difficult to put to sleep. After much thought and consideration, I began looking into sleep certification programs so I could help other families and nannies have happy, sleeping children. Not only do the parents and children benefit from great sleep, but also all the friends, babysitters and grandparents who watch these children.

After doing my research, I found Family Sleep Institute and instantly knew I wanted to be a part of their program! I loved their approach, how they did not believe in following a clock but rather sleepy cues. I also liked how they continue to be by your side even after graduation. I was accepted into the program and became a Certified Sleep Coach in July 2020. I have a large range of childhood development course work including, SIDS and SUIDS, sleep issues in children with special needs, childcare, bedtime battles, potty training, parent coaching, as well as working with the entire family to achieve healthy sleep. I am so excited to officially be helping as many families as I can.

When I am not having fun with my nanny family’s children or working with sleep, I enjoy performing in musicals, traveling the world, cooking, and taking my sweet Irish Doodle to the park. I continuously pursue ongoing education so that I can give your family the most up to date information about infant and toddler sleep. I am thrilled to welcome you to Little Red’s Pediatric Sleep Consulting, and I cannot wait to help your entire family get the sleep they all deserve.
